A leading voice on healthcare as a member of Congress and a key player in the 2009 healthcare reform negotiations, Tauzin addresses the current state of healthcare reform and its implications for the pharmaceutical industry. His perspective from both the legislative side and the special interest side (as the former president and CEO of PhRMA) provides unique insights into one of today’s most debated issues. As a patient himself, recently battling a cancer diagnosis, he is one of only a handful of people who have experienced the many facets of the healthcare industry from all different perspectives. In this keynote presentation, he weaves his experiences as a patient and a policymaker together to address one of the most pressing issues today.

How Has the Political Climate Affected Drug Development and Delivery and How is the Industry Coping?
By February, we’ll have re-elected or inaugurated a new President and we can only speculate how the election will affect the industry at this moment. In this panel session, senior executive policy leaders from many facets of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry convene to discuss how the industry is moving forward through the regulatory system and how the current political landscape is affecting reimbursement.
