Wireless pacemaker in the works from Medtronic

Medcity News looks at the latest device from Medtronic. They're working on a pace maker to delivery electricity to the heart without the use of wires. It would be implanted directly into the right ventricle. Medtronic is working with Nanostim to formulate a secondary device that will protect the heart should the pacemaker dislodge from the right ventricle. This could mean a lower costing surgery for those patients needing a pacemaker, as there would be no wires to attached the pacemaker.
