Personalized drug delivery for cancer patients couold be near

Andrea Armani, professor at USC's Viterbi School of Engineering, won NIH's 2010 New Innovator Award according to The Medical News. Her creativity in scientific research is for constantly monitoring the changes in DNA of cancer patients. By closely monitoring DNA, she will find try to detect the potential for cancer in DNA cells. Until now, scientists have just monitored DNA for cancerous tendencies by taking snapshots.

Scientists are hoping this research can be used to create a way to detect cancerous potential with a sample of one's blood, then develop a personalized treatment dependent upon the findings of the blood sample.

Do you think this is a reality for the future?
